Details of case: On July 7, 2021, Mr. Hall was arrested in Lauderdale County for the offense of Receiving Stolen Property in the First Degree. Mr. Hall was later released on bond and given conditions that he not be arrested or charged with any new offenses while under said bond. On May 25, 2023, Mr. Hall was arrested again in Wayne County, TN and charged with the offense of Conspiracy to Sell or Distribute Methamphetamines over 300 grams.

Three Die in Car Crash in Sheffield

NEWS ALERT 🚨 SHEFFIELD

THREE DIE IN EARLY MORNING CRASH

Three women died in a Sheffield crash that occurred early Saturday morning. Police say Jalisa Ricks, 35, Tia Wright, 27, and Tabitha Black, 28, were all three killed in the crash that occurred on Hatch Boulevard near Platos and the Quad Cities State Trooper Post. Officers say the vehicle was traveling north on S. Hatch Blvd. when it left the roadway and crossed over Ashe Boulevard in the air.

Jalisa Ricks and Tabitha Black reportedly worked at Glenwood Center in Florence and Tina Wright was a former employee at the assisted living facility.

Alabama State Troopers and Sheffield Police continue to investigate the crash.

Jury Trial set for Florence man and woman in 3-year old’s murder

In August of 2020, Yalrick Zeonsha Pride and Blake Joshwell Townsend were arrested and involved with the death of 3 year old Kaden Garner. Pride, now 23, was initially arrested for aggravated child abuse.

Florence man accused of attempted sexual abuse

A Florence male, Carlos Che 55 year old male, was arrested and charged with attempted sexual abuse and first degree rape on Saturday night.

Che allegedly touched a 5 year old girl inappropriately and made the young girl touch him inappropriately.

Power Mostly Restored in TN Valley

Florence Utilities is currently reporting approximately 15 people without power down from around 1,700 earlier Sunday afternoon. The utility company’s outage map shows that the outages are primarily centered in the city, near downtown Florence with smaller outages spread throughout Lauderdale county.

STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS TB TESTING FOR PEOPLE ASSOCIATED WITH POULTRY PLANTS

People who are working or who have worked with the poultry industry in Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, or Lauderdale counties from June 2022 to the present are asked to be screened for tuberculosis (TB). TB is a type of bacteria that is usually spread from one infected person’s lungs to another’s through activities such as talking or coughing. TB is not transmitted in food. People who are infected with TB can be very sick or may have no symptoms. TB is treated using antibiotics and is almost always cured. People infected with TB can also be offered a preventive treatment.

METH BURGER ARREST

Sheriff’s deputies made an interesting arrest on Saturday.

Lauderdale County Deputies Tyler Declue and Cpl. Josia Tukua conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 157 just north of Underwood. It was determined that the driver, Timothy Nolen, had a revoked license. The vehicle was to be impounded per policy.

Over 3000 gallons of oil spilled into Tennessee River on Sunday

Florence Police Department said Sunday that 3,000 to 5,000 gallons of diesel were released into the river and the fuel had begun to wash up on the beaches of McFarland Park and infiltrate the many sloughs of the Tennessee River.

On Tuesday July 11, 2023, the Tuscumbia police department got a call about 1p.m. about a deceased woman in the parking lot. The woman, Edith Margarita Martinez, 59, was found murdered at McVantage Packaging.
