DALLAS – The second-ranked Alabama football team completed its slate of full practices for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, working nearly two hours in shells on Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday’s practice was the Crimson Tide’s final of its 11 total practices leading up to the 2015 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. Alabama will meet Michigan State on Thursday, Dec. 31, inside AT&T Stadium to determine who will move on the national championship game. The New Year’s Eve matchup is set for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit in the booth and Heather Cox on the sidelines.
The Tuesday schedule started with media day for the team as every player along with assistant coaches met with members of the media for one hour. Immediately following the media event, the Crimson Tide began its final full practice before Thursday’s game. The team then returned to the hotel for meetings before breaking for an evening for the players to enjoy themselves on their own. Head coach Nick Saban will close out his day with a Cotton Bowl edition of “The Nick Saban Show” live from 6:30-8 p.m. CT inside the Hilton Anatole Atrium.
Alabama and Michigan State will meet for the second time in the storied history of the two programs. The lone matchup between the teams came in the 2011 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. The Crimson Tide came away with a 49-7 victory over the Spartans in that game.
