TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama football team put in two more hours of work on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for this Saturday’s Iron Bowl matchup with the No. 6-ranked Auburn Tigers, practicing in full pads at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

The Crimson Tide continued to work on a game plan to stop a high-powered Auburn offense, which ranks third in the SEC in scoring offense, averaging 37.6 points per game. Black Friday is upon us so Pledge to Shop Shoals

Well, the big week is finally here! Unless you’ve lived under a rock your entire existence, everyone knows the ins and outs of Black Friday; long lines, stampeding crowds, all-night-campers outside big-box stores, hair pulling over Egyptian cotton sheets and Tickle-Me Igmos – we’ve all been there. And for those of you who like random trivia, it’s interesting to note that more people are injured on Black Friday in those same big-box stores than in yearly shark attacks. This one day attracts more people than the multi-million dollar theme parks on any given day.

This year, Shoals Insider urges everyone to “Pledge to Shop Shoals.” Continue reading Black Friday is upon us so Pledge to Shop Shoals

Ron Craig: the devil is the spiritual father of all of those who are not born again!

Author and Pastor Ron Craig

These articles began by discussing whether or not God is actively involved in solving the world’s many problems. Those who are asking that question actually sidestep the real issue, which is identifying what the world’s problems are. How can we understand God’s level of participation in solving human problems, if we ourselves are unable to understand what those human problems really are. If we cannot accurately locate those human difficulties, we cannot know if there are any solutions; and we certainly will not know how to administer any solutions. Of course, some will say it is easy to understand problems in the world system: Poverty, sickness, pain, violence, people taking advantage of other people. And, not only mistreatment of people by other people, but natural disasters as well. One problem after another. No, let up. What can we do? Is there no help?

Bro. Ron Craig: No one was willing to admit they could be wrong

Author and Pastor Ron Craig

In the historical event known as the Reformation, wars were fought between Roman Catholics and Protestants for many decades—vicious, bloody wars! The problems were major doctrinal differences, and the age-old practice of saving face—no one on either side being willing to admit they just could be wrong about anything.
