MUSCLE SHOALS-(SHOALSINSIDER)-Muscle Shoals Mayor David Bradford tells the Shoals Insider property has been purchased on Avalon Avenue for the building of a new Dairy Queen franchise.
Before Tuesday night’s council meeting Bradford shared the news with local media.
“The property is on the corner of Avalon Avenue and Firestone,” said Mayor Bradford. “Groundbreaking and construction should begin soon,”
The investment, which should exceed one million dollars total, will provide Muscle Shoals citizens with another popular choice for fast food and the like.
Mayor Bradford also mentioned a new hotel being built near the Love’s Truck Stop on Highway 72 East.
“Also, Publix construction is moving along rapidly,” said Bradford.
During final comments, Councilman Neal Willis stated: “It is good to be back.” Willis, who has been absent recently, tells the Insider he has been battling cancer.
Willis also discussed trying to get the Alabama Department of Transportation to make Avalon a true four-lane. “I call them twice a month and have called for the past several months,” Willis continued, “Maybe one day,”
