Jeremy Leshun Williams
FLORENCE-31-year-old Jeremy Leshun Williams was sentenced to life in prison this morning by Lauderdale County Presiding Circuit Court Judge Mike T. Jones for the murder of Deshler coach Brioni Rutland.
Williams sentence came with the possibility of parole. Williams will now be transferred from the Lauderdale County Detention Center to Kilby Correctional Facility for processing.
According to prosecution testimony in the case, Williams stabbed Rutland 70 times over a gambling debt.
Rutland was a volunteer coach at Deshler Highschool in Tuscumbia.
Williams was represented by Florence attorneys Charlie Bottoms and Chris Childers.
