ACCUSED MURDERER AND DRUG TRAFFICKER NOW CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE
An accused murderer and drug trafficker that was arrested last week by drug agents has had more charges added. This time the charge is for child abuse.
Court records show James “Musso”Whiteside was arrested Thursday with two other suspects on Gate Six Road. Agents found a pound of methamphetamine, two pounds of marijuana, and multiple firearms.
A Colbert county grand jury indicted him last week for allegedly abusing his own son.
Whiteside was arrested in December 2021 after a deadly shooting at “Jokers” Restaurant on Hatch Boulevard in Sheffield.
According to court documents, an affidavit from a Sheffield police officer states an argument inside the establishment led to the shooting.
Police say Whiteside shot and killed Kayln Horrison and injured two others.
Whiteside, who had been out on bond, is being held in the Colbert County Jail. Court officials say his bonds are in the process of being revoked.
