Authorities in Colbert still searching for suspect

LEIGHTON-(SHOALSINSIDER)-Authorities in Colbert county are still actively searching for JOSHUA NEAL TERRY of Leighton.

According to police, Terry, 28, is wanted in connection with several thefts in the Leighton and eastern parts of Colbert county.

Terry was involved in a high-speed chase on Wednesday morning with Leighton Police Department.

Police tell the Insider, Terry ditched a Ford truck that was reported stolen two days earlier in Muscle Shoals after it became stuck close to a wooded area near LaGrange Hunting Club on LaGrange Mountain.

Terry is now facing charges involving the stolen truck, the high-speed chase and according to court records, has a suspended sentence in Colbert County Circuit Judge Hal Hughston’s court for first-degree theft and escape charges., involving the theft of farm equipment.

The theft case involved the theft of farm and lawn equipment.

Courthouse  records indicate Terry was scheduled to make restitution payments last year, but none were made.
