<p>MONTGOMERY — A woman convicted of a 1988 Sheffield murder had parole denied this week, authorities said.<br>In a separate case, parole also was denied for a convicted sex offender from a Colbert County case who failed to comply with Alabama’s sex offender registration laws, officials said.<br></p>

<p>The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles denied paroles for Rosalyn Saffold Williams and Billy Jerome Henderson, said Terry Abbott, director of communications for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.<br>Williams has served 31 years, 6 months of a life sentence in the death of Tommy Dorsey Howard, according to court records. She is accused of using a butcher knife to kill him at a Sheffield residence.<br>She was paroled in 2003 and 2016, but violated parole both times, Abbott said.<br>Henderson has served 1 year, 1 month of a 10-year sentence for his 2013 conviction in Colbert County for the violating the registration law, according to records.<br>He had been convicted in 1999 of sexual abuse and received a 5-year sentence, records state. He then was convicted twice in Walker County of violating the sexual offender registration law.<br>Two hearings for inmates in local cases are set for Thursday.<br>One is for Michael Eugene Black, who has served 9 years, 4 months of a 25-year sentence for his 2011 convictions of first-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injury, records state.<br>Black was convicted of running over Tony Jones, manager of the Spring Valley Water Department while Jones was working on a water line on Dawson’s Store Road, near Tuscumbia, records state. Black lived near the site.<br>The other hearing is for Melvin Douglas Mason, who has served 16 years of a 25-year sentence on a 2005 attempted murder conviction, records state. He shooting his former girlfriend outside her house in 2004.</p>

<p>MONTGOMERY- Parole was granted for three inmates serving time for local crimes and denied for another, authorities said.<br>The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles approved the paroles Wednesday for Todd Alan Davis, Jesse Clinton Ford and James Matthew Locke, authorities said.<br></p>

<p>Todd Alan Davis has served 2 years, 11 months of a 10-year sentence on three second-degree theft of property cases, including one in Lauderdale County. He has eight prior second-degree theft of property cases, one count of second-degree theft by deception, two counts of third-degree escape, and one count each of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree robbery, second-degree forgery and felony driving under the influence.<br>Jesse Clinton Ford has served 6 years, 6 months of a 20-year sentence on six convictions of first-degree theft of property in Colbert and Lauderdale counties. He has prior Colbert County convictions on third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree escape, and one count of felony DUI.<br>James Matthew Locke has served 1 year, 3 months of a six-year sentence on convictions for two counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and one count of first-degree theft of property in Colbert County, and one count of possession of a controlled substance in Lauderdale County. He has two prior Colbert County convictions for breaking and entering a vehicle.<br>Parole was denied for Richard Joseph Patton.<br>Richard Joseph Patton has served 7 years, 5 months of a 20-year sentence on convictions of first-degree assault and second-degree robbery in Lauderdale County.</p>

<p>Blankenship was sentenced to 20 years for second-degree robbery stemming from a Colbert County case, according to records. He has served 7 years, 8 months. He is in the Ventress Correctional Center.<br>Cosby was sentenced to 15 years for convictions in Colbert County of second-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance, according to records. He is in the Limestone Correctional Facility.</p>

<p>In addition, he has convictions on charges of theft, criminal mischief, assault and promoting prison contraband charges in other counties, Abbott said.<br>He is in the Hamilton Community Work Center, according to corrections officials.<br>Yesterday, Michael Shane Ellis was scheduled for a hearing, said Terry Abbott, spokesman for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles.<br>Ellis is serving 20 years for 2016 convictions of first-degree receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance in Lauderdale County, officials said. He has served more than 4 years, 7 months.<br>Ellis has a previous manufacturing a controlled substance, according to the department. He is at the North Alabama Community Work Center.<br>The board will hear the request from Edward Ashley Garrett on Thursday, Abbott said.<br>Garrett is 1 year, 10 months into a 10-year sentence on offenses including first-degree theft of property in Colbert County and first-degree receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance in Lawrence County, according to corrections records. He is in the Limestone Correctional Facility.</p>
