AUTHORITIES IDENTIFY WOMAN ARRESTED FOR MAKING TERRORIST THREAT AT LISTERHILL CREDIT UNION

PETERSVILLE – (SHOALSINSIDER) A Florence woman is in jail after she reportedly threatened an employee at Listerhill Credit Union in Petersville on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say Samantha Hamm Clemons, 38, is charged with felony making a terrorist threat, unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication. She reportedly told the teller she had a bomb and was going to come back and burn and blow the place up, according to a statement given to the Lauderdale County Sheriffs Department.

Clemons was arrested near the old Suntrust Bank building on Cloverdale Rd., a short distance from the Listerhill Credit Union where the incident occurred.
Inside of her vehicle was a suspicious looking package which turned out to be carpet padding wrapped in duct tape, according to the Florence PD Hazardous Devices Unit.

She also had multiple failure to appear (FTA) warrants at the time of her arrest, according to police.

Clemons is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bond.

LAUDERDALE AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE HOMICIDE

KILLEN– Lauderdale County Sheriff’s investigators are on the scene of a possible homicide in extreme Northern Lauderdale county, near the Tennessee state line.

Authorities tell ShoalsInsider.com that a man has been shot to death at a home on County Road 130.

We are being told a female suspect is in custody.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help. A car used in a burglary was caught on camera and they are pretty sure someone will recognize it.
Sheriff’s investigators just released surveillance pictures. In the distance, a larger white sedan could be seen parked in front of Q-Gas on Cloverdale Road. For some reason, it quickly speeds across the street – giving investigators and you a perfect look. Whatever spooked this person at four in the morning had them hit reverse and take off.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office says while inside Q-Gas – they took a small amount of cash. They believe the car might be an early 2000’s Lincoln Town Car.

IS THIS YOUR 4-WHEELER? POLICE RECOVERED IT TODAY

LAUDERDALE COUNTY–Today, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department recovered a four-wheeler which is believed to be stolen. The four-wheeler is a green Honda Foreman and was recovered from the Central area (Hwy 20 and County Road 5)

As of this date, authorities do not have a report matching the description of this four-wheeler that has been reported stolen.

Lauderdale Mental Health Officers sworn in

FLORENCE–Florence police Sgt. Shane Blalock was sworn in recently as the coordinator for the Lauderdale County Mental Officers. This position is an appointment made by Probate Judge Will Motlow as part of a joint effort with the Florence police department and the Lauderdale County Sheriffs Office to provide services for those in mental health crisis.

Judge Motlow has been very proactive in the mental health aspect of the office. Hats off to these gentlemen on a job well done.

Authorities on the lookout for stolen ATV’s

LAUDERDALE COUNTY-The Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to please be on the lookout for 2 stolen Razor ATV’s. One was stolen from the Oakland community and another from the Threets Crossroads area. A small white pickup is a possible suspect vehicle.

Sheriff’s Department asks public for help locating stolen jeep

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in trying to locate a vehicle stolen from the Cloverdale Area. The vehicle is a yellow Jeep with a black hard top. Suspected meth dealer in jail after chase through industrial park

FLORENCE-A quick response by the Florence police department led to the apprehension of a suspected drug dealer and a large quantity of methamphetamine is off the streets.

Late Tuesday officers with the Florence Police Department attempted to stop a small truck for traffic violations along Helton Drive. The driver, Demarcus Robinson, refused to yield and led officers on a pursuit through the Florence Industrial Park area.

Robinson was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit on Chisholm Road near Co Rd 7. Lauderdale Sheriff’s deputies also assisted in the pursuit and recovery of a large quantity of methamphetamine that the driver tossed from the vehicle during the pursuit.

Robinson is charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Improper Lane Usage, Reckless Driving, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with the intent to distribute, Carrying a pistol without a permit, and attempting to elude. He is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bond totaling $12,500.

FLORENCE–The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public’s assistance in locating Robert Deshawn Childers. Childers was reported missing on Sept 19th, 2016 from a residence on County Road 141.

According to police, Childers was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long sleeve green shirt and brown cowboy boots.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department at 256-760-5769 or 911.

The people arrested were, Dedrick Casey, Brandon Berry Sharp, Jerry Benjamin Crowden, Kayla Michelle Sharp Burns and Lawrence Matthew Lee.

Police say they would break into homes to take guns, jewelry and anything else they could find. Then they would sell the items and spit the money.
