KILLEN-According to police, a man is still hold up in a room at the Motel 8 on Emerald Beach in Killen. Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene of a possible hostage situation. Management for the motel tells the Shoals Insider three people were in the room, two people and the gunman for a total of three people in the room.
Due to the incident, over thirty people had to be evacuated from the motel this morning after shots were fired. Brooks High School was also put on lockdown because of the situation.
The gunman is wanted on four failure to appear warrants, the gunman reportedly started firing at police officers around 6:30am today when police attempted to serve the FTA warrants.
