  • The Christmas train and holiday lights at Spring Park, 4-8 p.m. daily Dec. 1-24, Spring Park, Tuscumbia. Ride the Santa Express Train and see Christmas lights park. Enjoy a ride on the Carousel. Admission charged. For more information call 256-389-1357
  • The Trees of Christmas, Dec. 2-24, Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511 N. Water St., Tuscumbia. A collection of 12-foot live Christmas tree decorated by artists and community groups using unconventional techniques is on display from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.   • Cherokee Christmas Festival 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, downtown Cherokee. Entertainment, arts and crafts, food vendors, horse and buggy rides, bake sale, face painting, and letter-to-Santa writing station.
  • Plantation Christmas, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, Belle Mont Mansion, 1569 Cook Lane, Tuscumbia. Holiday event reminiscent of an old fashioned southern Christmas with traditional live decorations, period Christmas music, vintage ballroom dancing, and refreshments. Belle Mont, built c.1828, is one of Alabama’s most distinguished plantation homes. Admission charged. For more information call 256-637-8513
  • We’ll be Home for Christmas concert, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, Alabama Music Hall of Fame, 617 U.S. Highway 72, Tuscumbia, featuring the music and comedy of Aaron Wilburn, Mark Narmore and Bobby Tomberlin. Admission charged. For tickets and more information call 256-381-4417.
  • Christmas at Ivy Green, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10, Helen Keller Home, 300 N. Commons W., Tuscumbia. Sat. 8:30 am – 4 pm. Beautiful live holiday decorations adorn the historic birthplace and home of America’s First Lady of Courage. Admission charged. For more information call 256-383-4066
  • It’s a Dickens Christmas Y’all Holiday Festival, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, downtown Tuscumbia. Holiday festival reminiscent of the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol”, Carriage rides, snow, music, arts & crafts and food vendors. Admission charged for some events.   • Christmas Dinner Show on the Mountain, 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 and Friday, Dec. 16 , Mountain Theater, 4150 Underwood Mtn. Road, Tuscumbia.
