TUSCUMBIA-As the new mayor and council held their first organizational meeting on Monday, November 7th, the council voted unanimously to appoint Chad Smith as the new city court judge.
The council re-appointed Hal Hughston III to be the municipal court prosecutor. Both of the attorneys have their practice in the city of Tuscumbia.
The council also rescheduled the council meetings to begin at 5:30 instead of 5:00 on the first and third Monday of each month.
Hughston will also serve as the city attorney. He replaces Tom Heflin.
Smith replaces John Kennemer.
