PHIL CAMPBELL-Police are conducting a death investigation today after a body was found by a passing motorist Sunday night.
Authorities tell the Shoals Insider, the body is that of a 39-year-old female.
Phil Campbell Police Department is handling the investigation. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time, pending family notification.
Police say they are uncertain as to the cause of death. The body was transferred to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators tell the Insider, the body suffered multiple blunt force trauma to the head.
