Authorities release name of crash victim


CHEROKEE- A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Laceys Spring man. 

According to State Troopers, Richard Lewis Todd, 27, was killed when the 2003 Honda motorcycle he was operating collided with a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Larry Charles Houston, 83, of Cherokee.

Todd was pronounced dead at the scene by Colbert County Coroner Carlton Utley.

Houston, the driver of the automobile, was uninjured.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 at the intersection of Maple Street, in the city of Cherokee.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the incident.
