LAUDERDALE COUNTY–Troopers tell the Shoals Insider, a twenty-year-old Waterloo woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday.
According to authorities, Megan Renee Smith, 20, was killed when the 2002 Ford F150 in which she was a passenger left the roadway in a curve and struck a tree.
Smith, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle’s driver, Devin Aaron Harrison, 19, of Killen, was transported to ECM Hospital in Florence.
The crash occurred on Lauderdale County 3, five miles north of Waterloo, around 3:45 Saturday morning.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
