Lauderdale County Drug Task Force Arrest Florence Man On Drug Trafficking Charges

LAUDERDALE COUNTY-Chuck Hearn with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force issued a press release concerning the arrest of a man who has been charged with Drug Trafficking and several other drug related charges.

“On 04/21/2023 Agents with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 1420 A Huntsville Road in Florence.  

The search warrant was obtained due to the drug dealing activities of one of the occupants of the residence.  A search of the residence revealed approximately 3 pounds of Methamphetamine (ICE), approximately 9 grams of Heroin and Marijuana.  Agents located various pieces of paraphernalia including necessary items used for distributing drug.

The target of the search warrant was not present when agents searched the apartment.  A warrant was obtained shortly after the search for Lamarcus Dewayne Ricks.  Ricks absconded and multiple agencies began an attempt to locate Ricks.

Agents with the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force and Agents with DEA learned that Ricks was in an apartment in Limestone County, Alabama.  Limestone County investigators were contacted and on 06/16/2023 Ricks was apprehended.

Lamarcus Dewayne Ricks, 38, Florence

Trafficking in Methamphetamine (ICE)

Trafficking in Heroin

Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st

Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Agents assisting the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force during this investigation were the Florence Police Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Lauderdale County District Attorney’s Office, Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, and DEA.”
