TVA Community Credit Union opens 9th branch office in Historic Downtown Tuscumbia

TVACC held a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new branch on 6th St. in Tuscumbia

TVACC held a ribbon cutting ceremony around lunch time today at their new branch on 6th St. in Tuscumbia

TUSCUMBIA–When you enter the lobby of any of the TVA Community Credit Union branches, you will see the same gold, oval plaque hanging in each one. This plaque is titled, “Our Commitment to You.” To know who TVA CCU is as a credit union, you merely have to read those words on the plaque:

“When you walk through our doors, you will know how important you are to us. It is our goal to not only meet your needs and expectations, but to surpass them in a manner unequaled by any other financial institution.”

It is this commitment that defines the very heart of the TVA Community Credit Union. This commitment to excellence began in 1936, when the confines of their credit union consisted of a filing cabinet behind Oscar Flatt’s desk on the second floor of the old administration building on the TVA Reservation. The credit union has witnessed many exciting changes throughout their history including the latest in technological advances and electronic service enhancements.

But today, as they celebrate the opening of their ninth branch, they do so in the same spirit of ‘people helping people’ that forged their humble beginnings.

Tennessee Valley Credit Union’s new branch is located at 2116 6th Street in Downtown Tuscumbia.

Several city leaders and members of the community turned out for the grand opening of the Tuscumbia branch of TVACCU.
