Sperry’s Steakhouse in Florence closes doors

FLORENCE-  The Florence location of Sperry’s restaurant at 1001 Mitchell Blvd., closed its doors on Monday, February 29, due to declining business.

Francene Glynn, one of the managers for Sperry’s, which is headquartered in Nashville, tells the Insider’ “We’re really sad to have to close the restaurant, but we gave it our best shot,”

“We had some really good people that worked at the Florence location,” said Glynn. “It’s sad anytime a business closes, to tell the employees they don’t have a job anymore'”

Sperry’s operates Sam’s Sports Grille at 339 Seville Drive behind Publix in Florence.  Sam’s will remain open as it is reportedly doing well financially.

“We are trying to adjust all of the gift cards for Sperry’s Steakhouse to be good for credit at Sam’s Sports Grille,” said Glynn.

Employees at the Florence location will be offered jobs at Sam’s Sports Grille.

Sperry’s customers can also call 615-353-0809 for credit or debit card refunds on gift cards.

Nashville Employees also told the Insider their gift certificates and gift cards would transfer to the Nashville locations for anyone travelling in the area.

After catering commitments have been fulfilled at the steakhouse, the building will be put on the market for sale or lease.
