FLORENCE–(SHOALS INSIDER)– Authorities in Florence quickly apprehended a suspected car thief just a few hours after it was reported stolen.
According to the Florence Police Department, Robert Eugene Brewer was arrested Tuesday night after being caught in possession of a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was reported stolen Tuesday afternoon from North Franklin Street and a BOLO (Be On Look Out) was issued.
Police say patrol officers located the vehicle and witnesses identified Brewer as being the driver.
Officers said Brewer was located near the vehicle and taken into custody.
Following speaking with detectives, Brewer was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 1st.
Brewer is currently held in the LCDC on bond totaling $5,000.00
