FLORENCE-Police have arrested a suspect that allegedly took an officer’s mace and attempted to fight officers.According to police, Adame-Rodriquez was driving erratically early Monday morning along Huntsville Rd.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. Mr. Adame’s behavior was suspicious to officers and he was asked to exit his vehicle. Reportedly, Adame complied and then began fighting with officers.
During the altercation, Adame took mace from one of the officers depriving him of his ability to use this tool in the apprehension.
Several officers received minor injuries during the encounter and were treated and released from ECM.
Adame was also evaluated for injuries prior to being booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center on charges of Attempting to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting arrest.
Adame is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $5,000.00 bond.
