FLORENCE-Quinton Hanson, a founding partner of Associated Insurors, Inc., in Florence, recently announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Lauderdale County Commission in the Republican Primary.
“It is time to bring conservative leadership to the Lauderdale Commission and move our County in the right direction,” said Hanson. “Lauderdale County needs a conservative leader who will work to get our economy moving and that is exactly what I plan to do. While we have to continue to invest wisely in our roads, schools, law enforcement and our fire departments, we must bring a renewed focus on the development of good paying jobs for our citizens. With 3177 of our residents unemployed and the unemployment rate of 7.5% we must bring attention to this issue and work to bring the jobs needed to our area.”

Hanson is an active member of the community. He has served in various capacities in the following organizations.

Underwood Petersville Fire Department (Organizing Committee)
Woodmont Baptist Church
Advisory Board for Salvation Army
Independent Insurance Agents of Alabama (State President 1999/2000)
Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (Tenured Member)
Shoals Home Builders Association (Hall of Fame Inductee)
Shoals Chamber of Commerce (Vice Chair of Public Policy)
Pilot for Angel Flight & Mercy Flight of the Southeast. (Outstanding Pilot Award 2006)
University of North Alabama, College of Business Advisory Council

Quinton and his wife Susan (Pettus) Hanson live in Florence. They have two sons Paul and Will.
